Peter Zhu, PT, DPT, serves as the Director of the Physical Wellbeing Department at Lawa Longevity. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego, and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. He is also the owner of Zhu Physio Solutions, an outpatient physical therapy practice in Honolulu.
With a background in basketball, track and field, and rowing, Peter's own experiences recovering from sports injuries inspired him to pursue a career in physical therapy. These experiences shaped his belief that recovery should go beyond simply returning to a previous level of function. His approach combines hands-on techniques, including manual therapy and assisted stretching, with progressive movement training to help clients improve how they move, build strength, and better handle the physical demands of everyday life.
Peter works with a wide range of orthopedic conditions and has a particular interest in preventive care, movement optimization, and long-term physical wellbeing. He emphasizes a proactive approach to care, helping clients understand their treatment plans and develop lasting movement habits. He also mentors developing clinicians and creates structured frameworks for assessment and programming. Outside of work, Peter enjoys surfing, traveling, exercising, exploring good food, and continuing to expand his knowledge of physical therapy.
